I wonder if its a He or She??

I am 15 weeks pregnant today. As per the weekly fetal development, my baby's sex organs are formed and an ultrasound would show the gender of my baby. How is wish I could know the sex of my baby? I am not a person of secrets and mysteries. Even when I read any novel, I just blush past the chapters to know the climax.

I am very much anxious to know whether its a he or she. I am fine either ways. When I talk to the baby, I really not sure how to refer my baby. Also, I am planning all the baby room and stuff, the gender neutral things are less appealing. I really respect the law against sex determination and understand the significance of it. But, I just feel it would be great knowing the sex.

Anyway, this time I can't brush through the chapters. I want the baby to be in my womb till the essential time. So, this mystery will remain unsolved till November.

Do you think I am crazy or you had similar feeling???

  1. Hello Pavithra,

Its the same with me!! I respect the rule (no sex determination in India) and know its bad (in some cases female foeticide happens!!) but that eagerness still remains (especially when elderly people and sometimes some already parents (our friends) (those who predict the gender I meant here especially) tell you this gender and that... in that case I really want to know the gender to prove them wrong (i don't like all those other people guessing about my baby even though its my in-laws or our friends and so i want to prove them wrong)...

I address my baby as "gondu" its a pet name... and its not gender specific... its just a pet name... and it will remain forever... the way i was called "ammani" the same for our baby!!

nice to read your blog... in many ways ur and my pregnant journey are the same!! touchwood!! i too had nausea with strange smells.. .no vomiting... just headaches (and touch wood no weight gain (i lost weight and baby gained it back for me the same amount i lost!!) and no other health issues) wish we could share more of our experiences and be friends!!
